Friday 24 July 2015,

Early yesterday morning a major undersea cable that provides international communication to many of the major telecommunications providers in the region was damaged between Grenada and St. Vincent. As a result of this, Green Dot, along with the other local telecommunications operators, suffered a loss in some of its capacity which may have resulted in some customers experiencing slow speed issues with their internet service along with the interruption of some TV channels.

The provider responsible for the cable has readied their teams to resolve the issue, however, because of the current seismic activity in the vicinity of the damage, the provider is unable to confirm a resolution time.

Green Dot has in the interim implemented its back up procedures to ensure that our customers are not severely affected by this issue.

We will continue to keep you updated once new information is available.
